WHEREAS, The Connecticut State University System Foundation has voted to confer its 2006 Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award on 12 graduating Connecticut State University System undergraduate students, and
WHEREAS, The 12 recipients have been selected from approximately 4,000 graduating seniors, and
WHEREAS, The criteria for selection for this award include service to family, university or community, as well as outstanding academic achievement, and
WHEREAS, Romina Badal, a biomolecular sciences major at Central Connecticut State University, will graduate having achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.98, and
WHEREAS, During her tenure at Central, her many accomplishments included participating in two research projects in genetics and microbiology; presenting posters on her research at two Eastern College Conferences; serving as a member of the Caducean Club, the Alpha-Lambda-Delta honor society and the National Dean's List; serving as a volunteer/physician assistant at New Britain General Hospital; receiving the TJX Scholarship and the Litton's Industries Scholarship from Central's School of Technology, and
WHEREAS, Romina Badal has been selected by the Connecticut State University System Foundation to receive its Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award, therefore, be it

WHEREAS, Erica Bordonaro, a mathematics major pursuing a degree in elementary education at Central Connecticut State University, will graduate having achieved a GPA of 3.91, and
WHEREAS, During her tenure at Central, her many accomplishments included membership in CCSU's honor program and several honor societies; receiving numerous academic scholarships; serving as the first president of the CCSU chapter of Alpha Upsilon Alpha; serving as a member of the Vance Hall council, the education club, the Inter Residence council and president of Sam May Hall council; donating her time to many causes, including the CCSU Family Day and Vance Hall clothing drive, and
WHEREAS, Erica Bordonaro has been selected by the Connecticut State University System Foundation to receive its Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award, therefore, be it

WHEREAS, During her tenure at Western, her many accomplishments included being named to Western's dean's list every semester; receving numerous scholarships and academic awards including the Alpha Mu Alpha and Western's honor program; serving as president of the Gay-Straight Alliance and president of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars; serving as a student member of the American Marketing Association as well as being named the Above and Beyond Communications Student Marketer for 2006 on behalf of the Connecticut Chapter; donating her time to the New Milford Food Pantry, the New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Shelter, the American Cancer Society, Danbury's Women's Center, Bethel's Girl Scouts, Hurricane Katrina relief fundraisers, and the Danbury/WCSU Community Cleanup Day; and
