RESOLUTION

HONORING

WILLIAM DETRICK

November 3, 2005

WHEREAS,   William Detrick was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut State University System by Governor Lowell Weicker in 1993 and reappointed by Governor John Rowland in 1999, and

WHEREAS,   During his tenure Mr. Detrick served as a member of the Academic Affairs Committee, the Student Life Committee, the ad hoc Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics, several Presidential Assessment Committees and on the Central Connecticut State University President Search Committee, and

WHEREAS,   Mr. Detrick has been a staunch proponent of ensuring that all students have the opportunity and access to the benefits of a CSU education, particularly those students who have limited financial resources, and

WHEREAS,   Mr. Detrick provided a unique perspective in his deliberations as an alumnus, and as a former teacher and coach for thirty-four years at Central Connecticut State University, and

WHEREAS,   Mr. Detrick concluded his service to the Board on September 27, 2005, therefore be it

RESOLVED,   That the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut State University System congratulates Mr. Detrick for his twelve years of service to the Board, expresses its appreciation for his loyalty and his many contributions to the work of the Board, and extends to him its affection and best wishes for good health and good fortune in all future endeavors.
