Eastern Connecticut State University
- A new science building is being built just west of the library and south of Webb Hall. The $45.85 million, five-story, 173,000-square-foot building is scheduled to open in 2008. All sciences taught at Eastern will be consolidated into one facility, including biology, computer sciences, environmental earth science, math and physical sciences. The building also will house general purpose classrooms, laboratories, a large resource room, a 150-seat lecture hall with state-of-the-art audio visual systems, a computer science suite of rooms, and a Microscopy Center in the basement. http://www.easternct.edu/depts/facility/ScienceBuilding.htm
Southern Connecticut State University
- The 135,000-square-foot Buley Library renovation and addition will provide needed room for additions to the library’s collections, study areas and technical services. It will include two-story reading rooms with views of West Rock. Construction is expected to be completed in mid-2009.
Western Connecticut State University
- Fairfield Hall dormitory, Western’s only all-female residence hall will be renovated. Built in 1917, one of the building’s most distinguishing features is the cupola atop the building, which is featured in the university’s logo.
